Welcome to Tamworth & District Day Centre

Welcome to our website. We provide a supportive and social environment for the person over the age of 18 that enables continued independent living, alleviates isolation and provides a respite for carers. Tamworth & District Day Centre provides a warm and friendly Day Centre in the heart of the local community. Please negotiate your way around our website by using the above menus. Our Vision

Loneliness can occur as a person becomes older. Attending our Day Centre can give you something to look forward to and provide focus to your week. You will find good company, a nourishing meal, varied activities and entertainment as well as transport to and from your door.

We aim to provide a warm friendly and caring atmosphere for all those attending. All activities are aimed to promote a sense of well being and enjoyment for everyone. Listening to members concerns and worries is an important part of our day. Staff aim to widen the network of support for those attending. We will liaise with carers, family and professionals concerned in our members care. The goal of the Day Centre staff and management is to support each member thus enabling them to retain their independence and continue living in their own home.

Our activity rooms
Over the last three years we have developed our activity planning. As you can see from our activity pages we have held many activities at both Drayton Manor Lodge and Nurses Cottage. These have included, cooking, knitting, dancing, flower arranging, football, darts, bowling, croquet and keep fit. At both day centres we have dedicated rooms on the ground floor that are accessible to all. This allows us to offer a variety of activities each day.
These rooms include games tables, a craft section, a material store, activity tables, a dedicated food preparation area (for bread and cake making and preparing dried fruits).
In these rooms our members enjoy flower arranging with the assistance of our experienced florist.
From May 2013 our staff will be joined by a qualified beauty therapist who will be offering such services as hand massage, aromatherapy, facials, foot massage and pedicures.
